Plano, TX - GCi Technologies has taken another step to demonstrate its full commitment to the highest level of quality by announcing its recent achievement of the ISO / TS 16949 certification. During 2004 and 2005, GCi successfully converted its QS 9000:1998 Quality Management System to the ISO/TS 16949:2002 specification.
GCi-USA and GCi-China were both awarded the ISO/TS 16949 – Second Edition Certificate of Approval on October 10, 2005. It was issued by BVQI (Bureau Veritas Quality International) as authorized by the International Automotive Task Force. The scope includes design, development, and manufacturing with no exclusions.
ISO/TS 16949 is the automotive version of ISO 9001:2000, which includes all elements of ISO 9001:2000, plus additional more stringent requirements for the international automotive industry. GCi chose to implement the more complex ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality Management System with no exclusions to show its strong commitment to quality and the automotive sector.
